Gunslinger Girl, though I personally use GsG/GSG.
I haven't touch that series since ADV Manga started sitting on licenses without doing anything with them. (They stalled a lot of series.) Then ADV went completely belly up. TokyoPop as well (as of a few month ago).
We're left now with mainly Viz, Seven Seas, DelRey, YenPress, and to some extent, Bandai. I'd count Darkhorse, but their selection and release schedule (if they even have one) is horrid.
The shift over the past decade in the anime/manga industry reminds me of the Defense or Tech industries. Dying companies, consolidations, etc. I still recall when Funimation was a puny name in the anime world (they were huge in the domestic home video market though.) It used to be Viz, ADV, and Pioneer. Pioneer got a name change to Geneon later. TokyoPop came out. ADV expanded into manga.
Geneon in the US went belly up (the sale on RightStuf at that time was fucking awesome though: 10 DVDs for $50 or 25 DVDs for $100 clearance on Geneon products. I bought 50 discs back then.) Funi started it climb to power. ADV started dying (they were in talks to take over part of Geneon's business as a distro for them. Deal fell through.)
ADV going splat didn't affect me too much, but I like Geneon. TokyoPop going belly up was a smack in the face. I didn't always like their work, but they at least kept bringing stuff over at a decent pace and had a big selection. Only Viz could rival them.
I find myself being more of a YenPress fan, though mainly for the 4-koma manga. Their work in normal manga is kinda inconsistent at times, though it seems to be partially dependent on what type of manga it is. I can't blame them for tryong to localize stuff, but 'net lingo/jargon is something I'd avoid. I have "That can't be what they would really say in JPN" moments in almost every YenPress volume I read it feels like.

Well you could try "Lets Lagoon". I dont know if you like a plot where the main character's stranded on an uninhabited island but there are plot twists. There is romance and ecchi which is a pluse( for me anyway).Tensa said:
Requests? OK
So I want something that doesn't contain yuri/yaoi. A romance manga where there is no choosing between females (@ harem like). Something like... like.... Beast Master (not a one shot). Well in romance at least. I don't like manga where the female has to choose from two or more males. Or a male choosing from more females. Exclude gender benders and trap like stuff.

Also, I was wondering if there was a manga on Touhou. I've seen so many images on and it seems that im missing out on something that is huge. I would like to know if there is a story in this enormous Touhou universe?
Is it just me or is there a lot more girl manga's than guys. It could be the site that i use but still there seems to be a great deal more.
You mean shojo/josei manga which are for girls/women? I think it's rather balanced or even there is more for shonen/seinen manga out there which targets to the male audience. I think it mostly depends what site you are in. I don't know how it is in Japan however.
Well if your into the couples if your an IkkixKururu fan you'll be either in denial when you start reading again or just plain pissed if your an IkkixRingo fan you'll be pretty happy if your IkkixSimca...well give them up mostly because the most recent chapters are leaning towards Ringo as the "Girl" it's not over of course (but it's getting there... at least I think it is) the physics still suck but the plot has moved on and it's better now so pick it up again if you willing to.
Never heard of those but, on occasion i do find my self reading some romance comedy manga though most of the romance is covered by comedy and ecchi things ^_^. I just can't bring myself to read the shojo/josei stuff.Love-is-BS said:

Tiki, that user is referencing the basic possible main pairings in the Air Gear manga. I don't know exactly why s/he made that comment without providing context for it though. That come out of the blue for no explicable reason...
Air Gear is another Naurto/Bleach/DBZ to me. I lost interest in that series a few years ago when I finally caught to the (then) current releases and later realized the author was just pulling shit out of his ass to extend the story and whatever semblence of a main plot that thing is supposed to have.
The technobabble doesn't help. I like technical details in my entertainment. Air Gear started off okay... Then the plot devices started flying out left and right. Air Gear is Bleach with suped up rollerblades... Things are bad when your suspension of disbelief decides to quit or go on strike.

Does anyone know if Bunny Drop is worth reading? I saw volume 3 in a book store and an ad for it in Yotsubato and now I'm curious about it.
From a synopsis, it sounds like a good read. I think the anime version of it had favorable reviews. Don't take my word for it. I haven't touched it yet.
I really enjoyed the anime. Picked up the manga once or twice, but never gave it a good read. I think it follows the anime pretty closely though. Don't know how much more/less content is on one compared to the other. The series is worth a go, though. I just couldn't both watch it and read it.Cade said:

I read the whole thing and it's a good read. From what I have seen from the anime it follows pretty much as the manga with some minor difference as usuall.Cade said:

Though I don't know how long the anime went. I don't think it covered when Rin (I think her name was) was in High School and all that. That is a plus I think if you are intressed to expand your experience.
Oh interesting it goes that far, maybe worth getting it.FoliFF said:

Well I started reading Bunny Drop and I really like it so far. Not a fan of the art style though. But I suppose that's a somewhat petty complaint. The art kinda reminds me of Kimi Ni Todoke actually.
Got the first 4 from Amazon. Yen Press did a good job with these.Cade said:

The style doesn't get to the point to bug me, but I can see why it can be an "issue" sometimes, looks a bit inconsistent some faces, although it's totally part of the style.
*sight* I shouldn't have found another manga site... Sure found many hidden gems -.-
Oh well plus part is no watermarks and the hidden gems I found...
