big brother is a perv! i don't say pussy cat. i say kitty cat. anyway...
I try to avoid it.Davis_500 said:
i take it none of you have ever said 'pussy cat' before then?
Is the harem tag really needed? If it is need then we need to define and use it better. Since most of the imgaes are female only, while the harem is used when there is one male surrounded by three or more of the opposite sex or vice versa.
Otherwise I say kill it.

if you wanna change it, i'd say change it to "group" or something. and "pussy" to "vagina" :).
we have a group tag.
It turned up on it's own and had a life of it's own before it was noticed.
The case can be made that the harem is distinct from group in that it is a setting, not a grouping.
So post #136545 wouldn't be a harem, but Miku in post #132609 could be - she is actually in the setting that is the origin of the word.
post #135958 would be a harem, but post #126944 definitely isn't.
If it is kept it will need revised to a specific. As it is now it's being put on any grouping of mostly (or all) one gender.

Harem is a subset of group and would be mis-used anyway. I'd rather kill it. The difference between it and group is fairly minimal at the high level. Hell, even group needs to be defined properly by us.
And FYI, the vagina <-> pussy thing will get looked at at some point. I'm leaning for vagina being the dominant tag as even SanCom uses it and SanCom's standards for tagging is the worst of the major 'boorus I know of.

cool cool. i thought that had blown away anyway. i just mentioned it again to be sarcastic. but i support the change.
Was anyone consulted about plaid, cushion, leek, mouth_hold, dildo_under_clothes?
If not I'm going to remove them.
If not I'm going to remove them.
No, they all go. Plaid was advocated by someone I reprimanded for creating a forum thread for that tag. He's been ban for his actions now. Seems I forgot to check his TAG EDIT history earlier.
The dildo_under_clothes tag creator is also banned for similar reasons.
The other three are rarely used tags created long ago (apparently) and undermaintained. They can go.
You don't create a tag, THEN try to advocate it's use...

- Leek is usually associated with Miku.
- If people want a cushion tag, I'd rather convert it to pillow.
- Mouth_hold is a SanCom/Danbooru-grade tag.
off topic
I don't know if I can request new tags here.
But is it possible to make a tag that declares if the picture has some unnaturally flying captions in it?
Because it always annoys me when I find cool pictures that have some stupid flying caption and make it unusable.
I have searched if such a tag already existed, it didn't.
Or was it removed because of something?

I see what you mean...

We used to have an associated tag: detexted. Or at least considered it. Problem with it was partially the fact we needed the polar opposite tag as well. There was also trying to make sure poeple used either tag regularly AND properly. Both requirements weren't deemed to be met by the general userbase within a reasonble time without massive staff involvement in some form. The tags were scrapped as a result.
Say, is there a tag we can use when characters from one universe appear in another?
It isn't really a cross-over when there are no characters from the target universe, it's actually closer to a cosplay. Though at times characters are not really cosplaying as much as being rendered in the target world.
Example which made me wonder about this: post #72643
I am not sure how useful such a tag would be, but I can imagine somebody looking specifically at cross-over listings to get a good chuckle.

Thanks for the information.
Something I noticed recently is that there are many posts which are "safe" and have the tag "loli". However, the wiki description for this tag says that it is a black-list tag and it should only be used for questionable and explicit images.
Should I (or anybody else, for that matter) enforce this by removing the tag from safe posts? Or should the description be updated to not specify it is intended as a black-list tag? I personally see no reason why safe-posts that contain loli shouldn't be tagged as such.
Or is it a taboo topic to bring up?
UPDATE: Is the "original" tag really valid for works in which the characters are well known, but don't belong to any anime/videogame? I am talking about post #87782, Mr KFC is hardly an "original/nameless" character there....

EDIT:
No reply in 24hrs? I'm taking that as a yes. Now to sort out the tags......

Don't tempt into taking corrective measures with you, sarcasm or not.
Your defintive answer is "no".
And while I'm at this...
Colonel Sanders was a special case and we don't bother correctly tagging those kinds of posts because they are pretty rare. To be honest, that particular post in actually on the otherside of the demographics lines. I was been tempted to kill it since day one and have simply forgotten about it since (I wasn't an admin back when it was initially uploaded).

The whole loli thing is a gray-zone topic due to the location of the physical server. The fact loli is a blacklist tag doesn't mean the tag ITSELF blacklisted. It to designate the fact it can be use to help narrow down blacklistings. I.E. rating:e loli is a problem, but rating:e or loli by itself isn't a problem (any possible morality issues notwithstanding.)SK7000 said:

I was seriously asking though.
I was referring to your edit.
- NO NEWS =/= GOOD NEWS here.
Okay... so I take it to mean, the rules are not set on stone and anything done by people, as long as it's sensible, is okay...? While browsing the archives I just see these inconsistencies at times, and I just get an urge to fix them, but I can't because I don't know if there's any "right way" :PStahnAileron said:

We attempted to clarify the meaning of the tag some time ago. I thought the loli page explained but apparently not.
Basically, any character under the age of 13, like Francesca Lucchini, the tag applies unless they are noticeably older.
Any character that is age 13-15 is usually done on a post by post basis.
Any character age 16 or older is not loli, except in a few cases where they really do look like they are a child. This means Aisaka Taiga is not a loli (age 16-17) unless drawn so as to look younger.
If there is no known age, it's on a post by post basis. Remembering of course, we have a flat chest tag too.
It's generally accepted across all the danbooru engine sites that safe images do not need the loli tag.

Hey, I've noticed the new "vagina" tag. I am proud.
In that case, best change Pussy Juice to Vaginal Fluids.
Since pussy was changed to vagina, how about changing butthole to anus? Butthole is kind of crude...
¬¬ at this rate, there'll come a point where people don't know how to call stuff anymore.
Pretty much nobody calls it "anus", probably because that's the correct name, which, by the way, is the most boring name of them all.
Using the word vagina has a similar issue, but you already discussed that and decided on it... I wonder if now that's some sort of green light to rename all related tags to use anatomically correct names? Hentai pictures are going to start sounding like medical education book diagrams ~_~

Danbooru call is anus. And to be honest, it's easier to type.
And if doujin's start sounding more medical, well then, you've got another option for explaining why you were reading them.

I've been considering reversing some of the aliases we have for body parts. Anus/butthole is one of them. Cum would have to switch to semen as well (which honestly makes more sense since cum is also a verb. Semen is a pure noun).
Pussy juice vs vaginal fuild is debateable given the subject matter at that point. Even I have to say taht vaginal_fluid is pushing the medical/biology terms a bit too far. If someone has a better idea, let us know. Pussy_juice is staying for the time being.

12 months agoas for pussy, i really don't care if it's changed or not. either way, i'm still gonna prolly tag it as such but if it shows up as vagina so be it. all the same to me.
