@Gregol,
I used to watch Saint Seiya back when I was a kid, it aired over a Brazilian channel in cable TV.
My memories/opinions on that show

Considering that most animes lack males(especially those based on novels or games), I think it will be good for a change.
BTW, it's an OVA how did you get it on TV? Or did they make it into a TV series after release?
@fox
I actually thought the CG dub was good, though...

An OVA? But Saint Seiya was a series, just like Dragon Ball was. I imagine it also had a few OVAs (quite a few, actually).
In fact, the series seems to have 114 episodes, isn't that a bit too much for an OVA?

Okay, I'm half-way through the 2005 anime. Hopefully my mom will give the tutoring crap a rest long enough for me to finish..... aaanyway, I just finished Eureka 7 and now I'm getting back to One Piece (they all have amnesia x_x). The next new anime will be Eyeshield 21 which I'm sure will be a much better sports anime than Akagi was -3-
The only sports anime I've ever watched (and think I could ever stand) was Ro-Kyu-Bu: Fast Break. I don't really like sports, so having adorable girls in it helps.
Code Geass just keeps changing from how I picture it. Mainly the main character keeps screwing up.
I always found sports to be pretty boring but no matter how dull something is for me, anime never fails to make it more interesting. School, politics ...ugghh... just putting these words in a post is killing me -_-' anyway, I hate these things but at some point an anime made them interesting or at least tolerable and I'm hoping sports will be the same.
I only watch sports anime if the sport is kendo or some other martial artsecchifan96 said:

Oh that's right! Martial arts is the only sport I ever really liked, I even took classes for a few months. Of course I've already seen plenty of martial arts anime.Tiki said:

I just finished the first episode of Eyeshield 21, it's off to a pretty good start.
In the recent time I start more and more getting intressted in disability in media and realised I haven't read/watch manga/anime where disability is the major focus in the series. Sure thing I have seen characters with a disability but they tend be side characters and portrayed poorly.
I have seen some movies such as rain man and forrest gump but not in anime and manga.
I know for a fact that this type of genre isn't very popular in anime/manga but I'm intressted to read or watch some. Can anyone recommend good series where disability is a major focus in the series?

Code Geass has all your anime characters you want It has energetic, emo, idiot, unreasonably smart, and even the weird, quiet, lesbian girl who does bad thing when she is by herself. This series is weird but entertaining.
Eh... Last I've watched with something like that was Guilty Crown with Ayase.
Otherwise, a disable main char or with disability as a focus? None that I can think of off-hand. Any disability in anime tends to just be a char trait or maybe plot device. It's not usually the focus of a story unless viewed from a MUCH broader viewpoint. (e.g. the "haves" vs "have-nots" type conflict.)

I have seen Code geas and Guilty Crown but as Stahn said it's normaly character trait. As I said I'm looking for a series where MC or disability as a focus or even a plot-device. If any of you figure one out please tell.
As for now I found a couple of mangas where disability is a focus and probably find more as I look but still havn't found an anime yet.
edit: shit I completely forgot about Shi ga Futari wo Wakatsu Made or also known as Until Death Do Us Part. I should pick that series up again... Very good manga. It's about a blind guy that protects a 12 year old girl from evil guys since she can predict the future.

There's a romance manga about a blind guy and a deaf girl. It's called "Can't see can't hear but love" I've never read it but you're more than welcome to check it out.FoliFF said:

i just hope your opinion of geass doesn't change when watching the second season like so many others did...
@Fluffles
there's kotawa shoujo, but that's a VN. there is an option to turn off the adult content though...

My opinion right now is that i hate the main character because he fails so hard. Especially at ep 22. I would like to know where America comes in and destroys everyone with their superior military authority (hope this isn't being racist to anybody cause if it is i didn't mean to offend you).
Even though there is no America in that show. Anyway he doesn't fail THAT badly. Mostly everything he does is genius but there is always someone just as good as him, a hitch in the plan, a Geass User, or well, Suzaku to stop him.
I think of him as the bad guy but i dont know why. I dont want him to die but i dont want him to win. I want his cause to win just him left out... the thing is i dont like him as much as the other characters even though he is the main character.
It's interesting when there are anime that practically switch MC's almost all the time. Yuru Yuri is kind of like that where Akari is the MC but with her no real pressence and Kyouko's personality, Kyouko is more the MC even though she isn't.
I'm also not talking about different stories each episode like for an easy example Sengoku Collection. Each episode focues on someone else but Nobunaga is the MC the whole way through. But there are shows where you question who the MC is throughout the whole story.

I just watched the Gintama OVA from shounen fest '05... what a weird show. One minute they're raising hell in a cafe, the next some guy gets drunk and starts playing rock, paper, scissors with a giant dog and then a mobile suit shows up and battles the main char! This show is somewhere between Keroro Gunso and FLCL on the weirdness scale and I'm looking forward to starting the TV series next week =3
Speaking of Keroro, it's getting more and more difficult to find online links to the episodes *sigh* it's times like this that I wish I could afford DVDs :(

Just watched the first ep of season 2 of Geass and I started to wonder...WTF just happened with this plot?
Davis isn't gonna like this... and now I'm worried about the 2nd season. Is it really that bad?foxknight said:

I'm just going to say it is not that bad. I think when Davis means that he means at the end of the show. Personally my opinion didn't change that much when watching the show.
To be honest though, Code Geass is one of those shows that I think everyone has watched, or has to watch, so I'm a bit surprised when someone hasn't seen it. I bet you aren't watching Nanoha btw Ecchi, since you're going by year and the first season is on 2005.

Hee~y i really liked both season of code geass. I also don't understand how you think he fails. I don't think he does at all, there are some screw ups but it's part of the plot.foxknight said:

Also lelouch is suppose to be a anti-hero so your suppose to hate him but you probably understand at the end of season 2...maybe.
@fox
What Tiki is trying to say, is that the show fulfilled its purpose with you.
Don't worry, it's supposed to be like that. You aren't doing anything wrong.
It's one of those shows, where the audience is supposed to think about stuff.
You're supposed to make up your own mind about everything that happens there.
That's why it has such a colourful cast and a wide target audience.
Just sit back and let it take you wherever it goes. That's the best way to enjoy anime IMO.
Just some animes didn't take me anywhere... -_-

Well Geass is only one of many anime series that I started but couldn't finish because I didn't have my own computer. Using the computer at the library was difficult because It had so many problems. I was only allowed to have it for 90 minutes but I rarely saw more than 2 episodes because the computer was ridiculously slow and the battery always died because they only charge them a couple times each day. And sometimes I got there only to find that all of the labtops have been taken, it was a real pain. So yeah, if I could help it I would have finished Geass a long time ago but I should be starting the 2006 series next week so no worries. As for Nanoha well I have another list that I plan to start next year and Nanoha is only 13 eps long so I might watch it then.Bardiche752 said:

Oh thanks mate. By the way it's a Manhwa (korean version of manga) and it's a webtoon^^
@Davis
Yeah I know about it. Still got the deaf and the one with no arms left.
I also found two animes where the MC character have a disability. One is Shion no Ou and the other one H2O: Footprints in the Sand. In Shion the MC is a girl who can't speak and in H2O MC is male and blind. Anyone seen these anime before?
On another note when you people watch an anime how much expectation do you have when you start to watch a show?
As for myself I normally have low expectation on any kind of shows I watch. This is mainly because of getting dissapointed. Which I have realized that there arn't many animes I dislike since my expectation is low.

I still like the series dont get me wrong, they just switched everything like that. I only watched the first ep. how do I know it won't get better.
I'm now convinced the Japanese people have a facination for afro's. It's just lately I've been seeing them in anime a lot. For example, Keroro Gunso brings afro's up constantly, they even have an ending theme dedicated to afro's! I personally think this is all hilarious but still, it's weird o_O and before anyone asks, no I do not like afro's... at least I don't think I do...
