For SAO, I found the first three episodes to be okay. The first episode established the premise, second episode had Asuna, and showed how and why he is held in contempt by the other players, and the third episode built his character a little bit, showing why he might be very guilt-ridden in later episodes. The fourth episode, however, didn't do anything for me.
4th ep of SAO is a introduktion of how he meet with dragon tamer girl. While I want the main story to start I still enjoy these side-stories. Well the side-stories are simply character development for the characters until the main story starts again. I'm also with Tiki how the order is put. As long I enjoy it and it make sense I don't care how the order of the show.

So far Kokoro Connect is my favorite this season. I really like how intriguing it is. Oh yeah after the episode end I thought for a second the show ended but after I looked it up and saw it was 12 episode I gave a sight of relieve.

You got that right. It's going to be a great episode 6.Anpan said:

Honestly I think Binbougami-Ga is the best this season so far. Kokoro Connect does place in my top 5 for this season because it is an amazing show.
For a change in pace from my usual rantings (^_^;)
Kokoro Connect is my favorite NEW series. Pacing, setting, plot-device gimmick, and characterizations all work very well together. That's on top of the performances by the seiyuus who each have to do up about 5-6 roles each in the core cast. (I say 6 due to the events in ep 5 with the antagonist.)Tari Tari I like so far, but it REALLY gives me a sense of deja vu. I feel like I'm watching a music-related version of Hanasaku Iroha. (Note: same production studio, apparently: P.A. Works.)
Rinne No Langrange I'm still loving with it S2 sequel. The series still has the same charm it had from S1. The pacing is very well done here, right down to how each ep ends. Practically all of them stop on a cliffhanger moment to make you want the next ep. The series also balances humor and drama quite well, IMHO. (I was laughing my ass off in ep 17 during the back and forth cuts of Lan's speech and the experiemnt going on.) The writing is done pretty well, too. Lastly, the actual plot is very intriguing. I still don't know who to root for other than the core cast of Madoka, Lan, and Muginami (who each represent a different side in the conflict: Earth, Le Garite, and De Metrio, respectively.) All in all, RnL is a very balanced series. It doesn't excel in any one metric, but whatever it does, it tries to do it well.
Horizon (the other sequel series) is still weird as shit regarding the setting to me. It's also kinda slow. I THINK main story arc for this season just kicked in, though. I'm mainly watching it to see what the fuck is going on. It one of those, "Huh? Wait...What?" series for me. I have to rewatch scenes in that series regularly to figure out what's going on. It doesn't help that, mainly, only CR subs are being used in fansub distros. This is one of those series that truly needs proper translations, not the half-assed bullshit CR calls a "translation". (It's bad when I NEED to rely on my basic JPN knowledge to understand a series.) Horizon's dialogue seems fairly particular overall and CR "translations" don't even come close to doing it justice half the time.
This made me laugh even if it wasn't intentional. I really wasn't expecting you to be a person to actually watch horizon. So that surprised me.StahnAileron said:

I'm glad that i took the time to read this rant because from all the positive feedback i think i'm actually going to watch those shows. Except for tari tari. I feel like it's one of those melodramatic shows and that's just bleh for me.
Finished reading the Shaman King manga and boy was that long. The ending was good (though i don't like Yoh's hairstyle at the end) and there is a sequel but i'm not really interested in it since i don't like the new MC's personality.
I can't believe it took me more than a week of reading it everyday to finally finish it. This just goes to show how much time i have <_<
You know it's kind of funny, when you finish a really long manga you feel like there's nothing do to anymore. (for me anyway.)

Same for me until I start reading my next manga.Tiki said:

Does Visual Novel count? Yeah well I guess it counts, it's a NOVEL. Heh.
Well I just finished Saya no Uta. Since it's Nitroplus I kind of was prepared for the stuff that were in, but... I did NOT prepare myself for the plot in itself. I imagined it to be different... but wow, a visual novel where the main protagonists, in our world standards, is called a psycho killer maniac. Yeah that's the protagonist. No I'm not complaining, I'm rejoiced knowing there are such stuff out there where the love is pure, twisted as it may seem to others.
I should have played this VN a long time ago...
You have ... two or three choices to make in the entire VN. Yes, it is a short VN... heh I'm hoping to see more VNs of the sort from Nitroplus.

Oh yeah tried the VN long time ago but my computer wouldn't run it somehow. Oh well might try again sson.
Oh yeah I read somewhere that Saya no Uta only had "bad endings". Is it true?

To my knowledge, it's more like there are bad endings and bad bad endings :)
Well spoilers are allowed in this thread.

Got to say that Sword Art Online is really good. The fact that it isn't the same ol' same ol' shounen action comedy stuff and has a bit of mystery makes it worth while to look forward to every week. Also i like on how they really get you hooked onto the characters. I also think that the pacing is done really well.
After watching an anime in where most of the characters combined describe my personality exactly, i hate the series and i don't know why.
Since I'm taking a little break from watching anime I decided to add to my youtube playlist and I noticed that there weren't any OP or END from the first few anime on my list. That was back when I wasn't going by year and it was less of a project. Anyway I'm watching the first openings for Bleach and I'm enjoying myself, it's pretty nostalgic. I think I'll search for some Naruto openings next ^_^
I've gotta say, I'm always a little scared about watching a new episode of SWO. I'm always afraid I'll spend the rest of the day depressed. Dog Days provides a good balance against it though.
I have a Toonami related inquiry I'd like to make. So if you can respond accurately, please do.
When exactly does Eureka 7 come on? I know it's going to start airing this Saturday night, but I am not sure as to whether it is coming on at 1:30 AM or 2:30 AM. I read that is was coming on at 1:30, but another article said that it would be replacing Cowboy Bebop, which doesn't come on until an hour later.
Thank you for your time.

According to the Adult Swim forums, it will start airing August 18th, at 1:30am.
OK. Thank you Senakysam. I was just confused because my TV menu shows Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood as still coming on at the same time. The menu doesn't even list Eureka 7.
I'm sure excited about watching Samurai 7 as well. By coincidence, I just finished watching the original Seven Samurai film. Toshiro Mifune is oficially my favorite Japanese actor.

Yeah, they just haven't updated the schedule yet. Interesting that they're adding two shows that both end with '7'.
They're calling them "The Lucky 7's".
I haven't been watching Toonami but I think I'll tune in this weekend. I feel like rewatching Cowboy Bebop and Eureka 7 (finally, my TV will be of use to me). But I haven't seen Samurai 7 yet. On that note, does anyone know where I can find the original seven samurai film? I hear it's better to watch that first.

It is SO good ecchi. Very long, but excellent. TCM aired it about a week ago when they played samurai films all day. Maybe you could rent it or try to find it online. The anime seems to be almost exactly like the original movie.
I also recommend Yojimbo and Throne of Blood (a.k.a. Spider's Web Castle) if you're interested in other films of the period.

Rent? I'm saving up for some games so that's out of the question. But I'm sure it'll come on again before too long. I think I'll wait until then and after I see it I'll catch up with Samurai 7 online.
TCM doesn't really repeat movies, but good luck anyway. Like I said, the series seems to be nearly the same, except it expounds further on the story than the movie. The characters get more done in the anime. I don't wanna give anything away about the movie, but you know how it is with samurai battles.
I just went 6 days without watching any anime... not sure why exactly but whatever. Tommorow I'm going to start the anime of 2008. Funny thing about this year is that it has a lot of ecchi anime compared to past years. Up until now I had 2 ecchis listed for each year at the most and all of them sucked. In fact, I can't remember the last time I watched an ecchi that I actually liked...

Are you sure it's not 2010? What about 2011? 2012? It could be any one of them really -3- yep, it won't be long before I know for sure if I still like ecchi-fests.

10 months agoAs for the whole production of SAO... i really don't care about how they put it in order. Although i would like the dialogue to be less cheesy, but other than that i don't really care because i don't see these show so analytically. I tend to try not to delve into stuff like that because i feel like it gets in the way of enjoying a show.
