I'm not a Mod so I can't say it's acceptable or not. But I can say that as long as the pictures are wallpaper size as per the rules/instructions that those pools would be fine. As I said don't take my word as a "yes" if a Mod/Admin wants to clarify things or something.

Actually, no, I don't think it would be all right. Konachan doesn't utilize those sorts of arbitrary pools. The pools here are used primarily for organizational purposes, i.e. separating game_cgs or pairing pictures that belong to a series.

I'll admit, I enjoy and use Danboorus pools quite a bit, but Konachan uses the pool system in a fundamentally different way.

But there isn't a rule that I can see that prohibits the pools that he wants to use either. But I wouldn't know if these sorts of pools have appeared but were taken down by a mod/admin either.

We use the pool here more objectively than Danbooru does. Half the pools there are HIGHLY subjective topics. While many can agree on the images being is such pools, that's not alwasy the case. An image that someone says should be in a particular pool another may say shouldn't.

Danbooru can get away with it because they have a larger active userbase. Said user help with the maintenance and upkeep of the pools. Most users on Kona are lurkers. We're a much more niche/subset community compared to Danbooru. Even regulars don't really touch the pool system here except for a few of the heavy uploaders/Contribs.

As PAIIS notes, we use the pool system for organization in a more objective manner. The pools here are grouped and themed by topics proven by fact, not personal opinion. This is part of the reason why Danbooru has over 200 pages of pools. (The other main reason being they cater to more general anime/manga content rather than our wallpaper theming.)

Subjective pools would also require constant ongoing oversight and maintenance to make sure they are updated and not abused. We don't have that manpower.

We've noted it time and time again:

For a multitude of reasons. Please understand that.

Unless Shuugo changes his mind about how he wants the site to function, I don't see that happening. And the day he lets the site be ran like Danbooru is the day he probably abandons the site and just doesn't care anymore.

That would also be the day when I leave to go find another site. Other users as well, I'm sure.

Honestly, if people want more Danbooru-like practices and behavior, go to Danbooru. Just because we use a similar site design and engine doesn't mean the community (and hence, activity on the site) conducts itself in the same manner.

No one is holding a gun to people's heads demanding them to browse Kona and no other 'booru-based site, afterall.
