So, who has actually used an explicit image as wallpaper?
This is a little something which I've been wondering about for a long time. Konachan, at its heart, is a wallpaper-sized collection site without any restrictions other than "it should be anime/video-game based" (and of good quality, of course).

And human nature being what it is, I am not surprised there's a large amount of hentai material here. Since it's wallpaper sized and of good quality, it gets approved.

But.... who here has actually used a hentai image as their wallpaper?

Personally, I only use images that I can consider art and pleasing to look at. Images that I would want others to notice while I am working on my computer. For... obvious reasons, hentai doesn't quite fit the bill. But does it for anybody else?

PS: I know that "explicit" does not imply "hentai", though the opposite is true. Feel free to respond in either context.
skip the thinking my head hurts

My main second advice/insight next to making a conscious decision on the effects on your environment would be that you should consider how it would make you feel. If you can derive happiness from a wallpaper without causing half a city to explode it's probably a yes. But to answer the binary question, No, teasing at best, although I did make fun of a friend once by using some VERY explicit material on his computer and then gave him a reminder about computer safety rules (I even made sure he would be the one the walk into that first actually, otherwise it could have gotten way out of hand).
i don't, cuz my parents could see it and be FURIOUS. plus, explicit pics gross me out. i'm more into female nudity (mostly chest exposure). i have a small phobia against penises. i have a few pics featuring camel toe that i use sometimes. that's another weird anime thing i like (especially strange since i'm a straight female).
I have used explicit wallpapers and occasionally still use them, if they are artistically good. I don't really give a damn what others think about it. My parents once saw it when I was still 17 and went "you can't do that!".

Most of the time the "of course I can, deal with it"-attitute combined with the "No harm done to anyone"-argument does the trick. Simply don't let a discussion take place and make your mindset clear from the start and it will work out.

This was especially effective since I worked and paid for my computer myself.

Of course, at work that is an entirely different story.
Does questionable count?
-"yes it does."
thanks for the quick answer

I did.
Only for a second to see what it looks like, then i deleted it immediately.
I couldn't bear the responsibility of having a picture like that on my laptop.
I did for about a week, but generally no. that one was an exception due to the actual quality of the artwork. In most cases the Explicit images here are of good quality, but lack good composition/staging. There have been some exceptions and those are the ones which i used on my two monitors for a while.
I would never use a rated:e wallpaper on my laptop, since i use it in public. However I'm a firm believer that what people do in their home is up to them, if they want to use a rated:e image fine, it's their right, on my desktop and was in a kid free zone I would to. I also hope people would see it the same way.
keep that hope alive cuda!!

Society has been so sensitive and unforgiving with regards to topics like this lately.
I like to experiment with different wallpapers, i soon got around to using e-rated pics as backrounds but i never keep them for long (usually about a few minutes actually) its just that i prefer landscapes and scenic pics as wallpapers. If i wanted to use explict posts as backrounds it wouldnt be a problem because i only use my labtop in my room and it has a password lock ^_^
Back when I could have wallpapers on my laptop (I use a pirated copy of Windows 7, and it caught on, so now I have a straight black background...it sucks.) I would, but like most others, only if was artistically done and just not pure on sec or whatever, though mostly it was be topless girls at the most.

I heard some pirates setting sail and finding a solution but ofc I wouldn't know anything about that. I heard google knows everything though.
I guess I'll add my own reply, for completeness.

I don't really have any interest in using hentai material as wallpapers. I mean, that would be severely distracting and get me in the wrong mood when I am supposed to be doing something else.

However, a good chunk of my wallpapers used to be quite suggestive or sexy. I bet I had several hundreds of bikini-clad wallpapers in the past. As my wallpaper collection has grown, I've actually decided to cut down on some of them, and raising my standards to keep higher-quality wallpapers. That also means that the majority of bikini images are gone now :P

Only from time to time do I bump into an image here that I really wish I could use as wallpaper, but know that would get me in trouble (specially seeing how I use this laptop at work, not just at home). Though, if I really like the image, I can usually edit it and make it work-safe (my current avatar is my default desktop wallpaper, just re-edited to not show any nipples).

On the very least, I am quite pleased with the answers that say "sure, artistic nudity if it's done well." Ah, if only I had the freedom to go there as well!
These days I don't even use moe wallpapers anymore much less hentai pics. I mostly use the landscape pics on this site as my background,

That's exactly what I wanted to post here. Landscape with 1 or 2 girls in it is the best imo.
I have mostly explicit wallpapers on my laptop, but that thing is mine, password-secured and no one dares to touch it.

Most of my explicit wallpapers have also chest exposure or milder themes, I don't have ones with genitals either, not because of a phobia though, I'm a guy and can see a penis everytime I want, so it it nothing worth a picture for me...
I use wallpapers that suit my interests at the time. Explicit has been used quite a few times, yes.
