The boorus and Sankaku have a horribly artifacted version so I was curious to see if the quality of the one here was really superb since the resolution was different as well. I was hoping it wasn't just a re-size.

I'm not a image expert, but I don't see this high quality. Just looking at the image I can see artifacts, unless ofcourse it's meant to look like that, either way it doesn't surprise me it wasn't approved.
He meant that the high-quality version of post 123493 was uploaded to "another booru," but it got deleted before it could had been stored elsewhere. The question is whether Konachan really deletes uploaded images, or they just get "hidden" away.
Hmm.... I am under the impression that under certain conditions the images only get hidden away but not deleted. However, I cannot comment on whether this applies to images that don't get approved and thus are "deleted."
We need a moderator who knows more of the site to chime in (e.g.: Stahn or Shuugo, most likely).
EDIT: Oops, I had actually read wrong, and the higher res version was HERE in Konachan. At least we got the answer now, posts don't really get deleted :o

Yeah, I was investigating the quality of the image here on konachan because it was larger than the one on the boorus. Since the resolution on them was lower and artifacted, I wanted to see if this site had obtained a better version but deleted it.

To be specific about image deletion here: if an image is deleted, the image file itself remains on the server and the post gets the flag "deleted". You can still open that post (just without the image) and see the reason why it got deleted and the comments. If a mod again deletes an already deleted image, then it gets purged from the server entirely including the comments. If you try to open a purged post, you will get the error message "This post doesn't exist".

I do not see a sticky for it and cannot find it denied in the TOS either so I thought I should ask before actually making such a request.
I noticed an image on a booru had a higher resolution and quality version of itself on here, but it was removed by an automatic timer. This means the only high resolution version of an image in existence on IQDB was removed while the lower quality ones remained.
This is why I made this inquiry. For other images like it.
I fear the deleted images aren't being backed up... because there is no link to them in a source field unlike other IQDB linked sites. (No ability to provide source is given)
