Monday night I had knee surgery to repair a torn meniscus. This is the first surgery I have ever had, even though it was performed as quasi-out-patient surgery (I was kept overnight for observation). spoilerThe video screen was not at a good angle for me to see clearly, bit I was still able to see the interior of my knee joint and watch parts of the bone being milled away (There were some areas with arthritis deposits as well at the torn meniscus). The worst part of this whole experience is that I am supposed to lay flat with the knee extended for a whole week (well I have already broken that rule some, as I sit here at my computer, but I make up for that infringement a bit with my leg up on a chair and an ice pack wrapped around it). I had to shave my one leg 15cm from above and below the knee. I think I will shave both legs so that I don't look quite so silly with one hairy leg and one shaven....
