Yes, I do mean those. Sorry, the literal translation from Romanian is "clock". We actually use meter/counter for gas and electricity, but for some reason they call it 'clock' for water. Ah, whatever. Might have been just a mistake and it stuck with me.
Well the cable issue sucks worse than it should.
The new house has all the wiring going through plastic pipes. That way, if there's a short, all there needs to be done is it being pulled out and thus replaced. But I know what you mean with your problem. I have a short at my current location. The idea is that the direct power line to the laundry and kitchen can not support the power output needed. Thus the entire grid tends to fall every time we use the, say microwave while the washing machine is working. So the improvisation is to use a backdoor towards the select zone (bathroom + kitchen). This is easily linked towards the main power source. Problem is, there is a short. It's recent, but there's one somewhere. It's not glaring, but the way that the connection works is pretty shoddy (all you do is clasp two wires on the main source). In any case, there are random times when the power gets cut. I'm still under the belief that it's just the shoddy connection, but I'm skeptical. No, I don't wish to cut into the wall. This house is over 50 years old, and we all know how the communist era was back then. Truth be told, I kept wondering how my grandfather built it all, as he didn't hire anybody. Good man, may he keep resting in peace.
