I was going to put something witty, lame, and annoying that went on for about two paragraphs, but I lost the message through accidental refreshing.
Instead I shall say that E-Sports and Golf are crap.
Also I miss ye' old forced avatar of the character whose name I can't remember.

Did anyone of you every had a sudden memory loss, or do you guys actually want to lose a certain memory of yours, and lastly if you had a memory loss did you regain your memory?
Don't know how many read my post on How was your day but I can retell that during a short period of time I completely lost my memories but I regain them during the hour but I still have a blank memory from the accident happened till I got to my house. Which is kinda scary since I really want to know how the hell I got home. Most likely I got home by myself since there wasn't any witnesses as far I know. Gotta thank the implicit memory I suppose.

E-sports as in...? Electronic how? Is it videogames? Because even though I couldn't care less for football soccer, I rather enjoy playing Mario Strikers xD'
Anyway, someone mentioned that I didn't do the whole "introduce yourself" topic properly, as per the first entry of this very long thread. I didn't think it matters, but I guess there's no harm in doing so.
Of course, I am not going to reply to every point, some stuff is best kept secret ¬¬
My Undisclosed Personal Information (MUPI)
There.
@Foliff: The closest I've had to memory loss is some strong weed (why did I offer to finish up the space-cake from my friend when we were in Amsterdam? @_@). I recall everything being dizzy, but having absolutely no sense of time. I couldn't recall things as they were happening, and everything seemed to be happening through flashbacks @_@' Frankly enough, I have no idea how I even managed to walk from bar to bar and how did we ever got back to the hotel at the end... o_O

Why wouldn't I be alive? I've just been busy appealing to my boredom.
SK7000, E-Sports only have one direct meaning. E-Sports are like this: Somebody is competing against another person (or more) on an electronic device (usually with computer games) and records it (or livestreams it) for the entertainment of others in exchange for money.
Fluffy, getting hit to unconciousness and then waking up and thinking it's a day or two before getting hit unconscious works, right?
Yes that works since your sense of time is off. Which is normal in these cases.
*points at the dreams thread, the specific 'murdered goggles or sarahNL' one* because of that!Goggles:D said:

There was a string of posts by two users here I deleted because they were about as useless and pointless as 90% of the Comments we delete. Please keep personal issues with other users OUT of the forums. That's what Dmail is for. I might not be as kind if I see a repeat of that between you two. One of you has a bad enough rep on the site as-is.
*Coughs* Thank you Stahn.
You both settled that in a magnificent fashion and you made me laugh.

I need some, or at least one volunteer. Well... need. It would most certainly be appreciated.
I'm writing a 'popular science article' for my English class. This article is based on the research I've done this whole school year. It's nothing really interesting, sadly, but I need some good eyes to check on mistakes, or stupid sentences.
It's not really that long, about 1 page /A4.
Anybody willing to help me out would be aweomse :3

Well normally I'd be the first to scream HELL YES! But the last two days people have been bashing on my usage of the English language as if I were some drunk rapper with a soar throat. From me and my lack of self-esteem, you have my apoligies.Artwork said:

I think a lot of you speak (type) English very well, considering it's not your first language.
ENG is my 1st language, thankfully. but...

Thank anime for that. I sucked as much in English as I do in Spanish now. Apart from "Hello yes no bye" there was not much I could say, apart from maybe some insults.otaku_emmy said:

I can say random sentences in Spanish. Yo necesito los pantalones.
I think it's pretty cool that anime can be and is used as a tool to learn Japanese.

Ah flattery left and right...
I know that I'm a sholid C-shtudent at english...
The only reason I'm reasonable at grammar is, that, if you learn both russian and german at school(well, russian from a private teacher, but still), you are pretty much forced to get at least some grammar right.
They don't teach us any grammar here though.

From what I've read around, it appears that foreigners have a better grasp of the English language than many locals.
It makes sense if you think of the context: when you are a foreigner, you are actually following courses on how to properly use the language. When we deal with your first-language, you don't really have to learn it, you just use it out of force. Thus, it's a lot easier to get it wrong if you are not properly studying it (not to mention that cultural influence will always modify the language a bit, sometimes enough that outsiders cannot follow anymore).
Of course, if you learned a foreign language from watching hollywood movies, that might not apply. Reading a lot helps, as long as you are reading properly written material (I wonder what does that imply for people learning English from netspeak and lolcat languages on the net...)

I'm reading too much poetry actually (Currently: E.A. Poe and J. Keats (WITH A >>K<< mind you! I'll get to W.B. Yeats later). I write it myself as well although I tend to destroy what I write. The problem is that grammar pretty much goes right out the window. It's beatiful or it's not. It conveys a meaning/feeling or it doesn't and grammar can be used as a tool or it can be ignored. What I find peculiar is that I can read my own "improper" english without problems even after a long period of time without problems. I may have simply become insensitive to the errors made by myself and others to be able to just read in an optimal fashion which COULD have adversely affected my writing.
Any thoughts on if the read/write ratio are out of whack mixed in with poetry and lack of structured rules could lead to such a situation? (The hypothesis is not optimal.. I know..just asking for thoughts on the matter *stares at SK7000*)
Oh and .... I'm in a good mood today =3
I know right? :o
Mnessie on a good mood, is the sky falling? @_@ Well, it'll make for quite a sight.
I wonder if poetry counts as a source for learning English, I am inclined to think it doesn't. You are likely going to pick up some unusual vocabulary and arcane definitions, which is good, but... the grammar might not be there. When people write as an art, that also means they can take artistic freedoms with their tools.
Like a piece of art which supposedly is a tree but looks like anything but that, people who write poetry often play with words and twist writing conventions in order to portray beauty. Not to mention, learning from older pieces will teach you a bit about older English, which is quite different from modern day usage (for better or for worse, the language does transform over time).
I personally think that the best source for learning to write in English is through books and prose. At least that which is written in a way which leads itself into conversations, dialogues and so on. That can be a double-edged sword as well, because (for example) the way that I've grown to like expressing myself in English is not quite the "normal" way people expect. I tend to be much more verbose than needed and go in around-about ways probably using less commonly known words when a much simpler word selection would had sufficed.
Needless to say, I was annoyed when my editor told me I was supposed to use "simple English meant for non-native speakers" when reviewing the last article I wrote :[ Maybe I am in the wrong field if I am supposed to write in "easy English" (whatever that is).

Well the sky isn't crying which usually makes me smile ^_^. Yet my mood is great. I have no idea and don't care to ask why at this point. (Note that that is exactly what I always do at such a point removing the mood with an answer. I'll be supressing this for as a I can to enjoy the moment :P, stupid brain :/))SK7000 said:

My idea is that poetry has made me appreciate language a lot more but also made it harder for me to convey rational points. I can use a good analogy here and there which helps explaining things but when I try to summarize simple points I need to cut back on run-on sentences and punctuation.
Archaic words just make me very happy. I love new words. Especially the ones that aren't used often, new or old. It just makes it so much more interesting to use such words. I'm not sure I really want to improve my English anymore. I just enjoy using it like this so much already...maybe I should just *shrug* at all the comments and use basic 1 dimensional boring powerpoint mode for my presentations. The second I conform to grammar I feel like I will loose my touch with poetry.
If this mood keeps up I may actually find some positive inspiration for once. God that was long ago that I wrote something optimistic that did not end in a sorrow tragedy. Could be fun, and hard xD Who knows ^_^
