FYI: each portrait was individually cut and crop to uniform dimensions (I'd like re-sizing if I can help it.) I tried to somewhat group them according to some sort of theme.

Center images are from a credits image in the same image set I pulled the portrait images from. The artist provided a sketch version of the portraits in that set.

Any idea who she is? If she has no proper name I would like to call her Key-chan. It's short, cute, original, and draws inspiration from her original artist's name.
She's super cute! I hope to see more of her in the future! (^_^)

She looks like Hideyoshi from Baka to Test but without the odd feeling of her being a boy.

No clue. The pixiv post only uses general tags. Both the post title and artist's quote/description mentions nothing of a name. If Google Trans is to be believed, the prtraits I used to make this image are simply the results of the artist practicing facial expressions.

I know it's kinda late for this, but ... where does the name Konachan comes from anyway?? Cause this Shirakawa it's recent stuff , right (Couldn't find the answer in the forum)

The picture in the bottom right corner makes me want to break through the 4th wall into the picture.

It's the affectionate nickname given to Konata Izumi by her friends in the series Lucky Star. Odds are you have never watched Lucky Star before, so I hereby recommend it to any card-carrying otaku who can stand the doldrums of the slice of life genre.

What are you talking about? Shuugo chose the mascot. I worked out the deal to acquire her for Konachan's official use. Heck, I was the one that said, "What about this char? She's original and already made. We just need the rights to her," initially.

Ye know, I had an idea for some mascot voting, what if the community, well, the artists of the community could imagine their own mascot, draw it and make it perfect, and then we'd choose a new mascot from the community, it would be original and the community itself would have some kind of a competition for fun...

No. It's a Higurashi reference. I proposed the name for her and Shuugo went along with it. So in theory, the new default avatar still is/has a Higurashi reference and retains all the implications regarding the history of the site. You can go ahead and try to figure out the reference yourself. It shouldn't be too hard.

This has greatly veered off from talking about the picture itself to talking solely about the character in general.
