....Must be a clumsy angel.
An angle... with a pentagram hairclip... either there's something weird going on here or whirlpool DEFINITELY needs to do more research into Western religions before drawing holy beings. Might as well draw a republican wearing all blue.
Well, it's not like western art hasn't trampled over other cultures mistakenly. The way I see, the artist just thought it'd be a cool, "stylized" design for a regular star shape.
I recall a story where a shoe company (forgot which exactly) was going to release a line of shoes called "Incubus". Sounds cool... Until they realized what the term meant. Suffice to say the line got cancelled or simply renamed prior to release.
This could be the purely visual version of that situation. If everyone took everything into consideration when doing something, nothing would ever get done. It's just a star to me. I try not to dig too much into stuff unless it's really meaningful ^_^

Who says she's an angel, though? No wings, and I'm somewhat reluctant to call that a real halo (on account of the derpy star's orbit). Unless the creator would say otherwise, I'd sooner take this to be an alien over an angel.
I was just thinking she was some girl who bumped her head. Maybe she feel out of a tree.
*Ahem* Christians once used the pentagram to symbolize the five wounds of Jesus. Also, that type of pentagram is also used on numerous flags for Islamic countries and regions, and since Angels are present in Islam as well, I find these complaints invalid.
Okay, let me clarify. This is a pentacle, an inverted pentagram. The point is facing downward on a pentacle. A pentagram may have been used in Christianity, but an inverted pentacle has more or less the same effect toward blasphemous indications as an inverted cross, and has been used for Pagan practices, Wicca, and more lately outright Satanism.
So, I find your counterpoint under researched and invalid.
However, a different point can be said for the angle of the camera. When the image is righted, it is in fact a pentagram. So, there's no real faux paus here.
However the annoying tendency for game CG to be tilted in every shot is another matter entirely...

The picture is tilted, yes, so no, it's not invalid. Also, a pentacle and pentagram are synonymous words, you mean the turned pentagram, which is in fact, used by satanists, occultists and alchemists (not pagans, who sees it as blasphemous). The turned cross is actually a catholic symbol, so no, it's not really satanic either, satanists just don't do their homework.
What is inaccurate however, is the existence of a female angel. According to the bible, there is no such thing as all angels mentioned are male, have male names, and women are considered imperfections created after the angels, unless this is one of the Nephilim.

Both symbols were originally drawn in the dirt by some random goat herder 4000 years ago and don't have any value other than what we assign them, as does any other symbol. Actions, not symbols...And another catgirl just died.
I think she's just a normal girl whose nursing her knee after tripping, as noted by the daffy star.

Well Troggyman you seem to be correct in everything you say, after some research. I should stop trying to debate so early in the morning using remembered references from... I can't even remember where now. *Rubs head* Where's my tea...
