I see. That explains the lack of hiragana and katakana symbols in the picture.

Titles and names are known to use pure Kanji. Look at most school names in anime.

On the other hand, this could be a chinese artist who only knows limited JPN. "かわいい" (kawaii = cute) is technically incorrect (かわい～ = kawai~) for example.

It could be a stylistic choice (I've seen manga that uses that form to convey/imply a certain speech pattern for a char.) Hard to say though.

Uh, nevermind: the artist's homepage is dominantly written in CHN, so this is likely to be a chinese artist with limited JPN knowledge like I suggested above.

you got that right stahn, i especially noticed it when the artist uses a lot of those "japanese words simulations" in chinese to add in some meaning.
