I think it's water actually, you can see a shift in shading on her legs, and there is a grass line just past her hair to the right.

It's water. The grass forms a small bank. My guess is that it's just a shallow, grassy hole that possibly filled with water after a rain shower. You can see the water's shimmer on her dress and on the surface.
