Could this be one of those "legendary" love-guaranteed confession trees? I got the feeling that the four people, Miku aside, are younger/older versions of themselves. It could also be like the acknowledging the intensity of youthful "love" during high school and how it wanes in the working world, much like a flower, indicated by the number of candles/lanterns on each respective side. And the budding flower in front of Miku representative of the unborn child?.
