Originally his face wasn't his real face til the creator of the game told them to look at the mirror that was in their inventory. Then it changed their appearance to what they looked like in real life.

What makes you say that? I think this picture is great. The angle, the blood, their determination. It looks pretty cool to me.

If I had to take a guess, it'd be that Kirito looks...off. The line-work (left hand, right leg) is rough; the shading (clothing) is splotchy; the hair is not quite styled or colored right; and compared to Asuna, the pose is neither natural nor dynamic.

Still though, Asuna looks awesome; I love her expression and pose.
