But it's almost impossible for a dainty girl to shoulder fire a weapon that makes an experienced marine stagger back.

IMO she looks like she's crouching in a pretty sturdy position. Can't be that impossible if she's a well seasoned sniper I suppose. Plus from what I've seen marines only tend to sometimes stagger back slightly when they're standing up and firing. Lol and who knows, she could be packing a lot of low-profile muscle under those clothes. =P

Far as I know, it's an artist original, I think. This particular post seems to be the left side of a larger image. I don't recall seeing a series name (be it anime, manga, or game) tagged for it on any version.

You don't. This in fact is technically an upscale, far as I can tell. The artist's original post on his/her Pixiv account is smaller.
