I'm sure my desktop can load it, it has a higher res then my laptop.

As you know.. a 17 inch monitor is like 1024x768 pixels... imagine the 1 GB having 100k+ x 50k+ res.... it would cover a whole street XD (the one Shuugo pointed out can cover 2 cars).

even though PS can handle 30000*30000, but due to the limitation of memory XP can use (3GB) , 14000*10000 is the maximum resolution which can be technical editing with layers. the resolution over this line is considered vectors, or fake enhanced images.
