The robot reminds me of Muv-Luv, though the characters are not in the same style.

I vote for Armored Core-inspired design (something between the AC3 and AC4 styles.)
Muv-Luv I think has a different styling to them. This looks more like Kawamori Shoji's style (the mech designer for the AC and Macrioss series).

I do favor large mech designs, and armored core does provide quite a few good ones. Only, I've always found the versions that have a pointed front to be rather pointless.
Those tended to be the ones intended for higher speed piloting...Aerodynanics, maybe? *shrug*
