Actually, Madoka Magica is a bit more, say, GRIMDARK than your run-to-the-mill mahou shoujo show.

Yeah, at least, it is because of episodes 3 and 4...I was surprised by 3...and was close to crying so many times in 4...till the comericial...which killed the mood...lol
