VOCALOID is a DTM (Desktop Music) singing synthesizer engine developed by Yamaha. There are various developers who create voice model packages using the engine. Notable Vocaloid packages are Big-Al and Sweet Ann (by PowerFX); Leon, Lola, Miriam, Prima, and Sonika (by ZERO-G); Kamui Gakupo and Gumi (by Internet Co); and Meiko, Kaito, Hatsune Miku, Kagamine Rin/Len and Megurine Luka (by Crypton Future Media).

Sweet Ann, Prima, Sonika, Hatsune Miku, Kagamine Rin/Len, Megurine Luka, Kamui Gakupo, and Megpoid are created using the second generation Vocaloid2 engine and offer much improved quality and functionality.
