Ran 10.25 miles today. I was like 4 mile out when I ran into the local cross country team (the same one I used to run for). So rather than have an awkward encounter I quickly turned right and ended up running way too far to get home hahah.

Welp, my fucking charging cable finally gave up the ghost. Motherfucker was sheared all the way through and I hadn't even realized it. I could hear it sparking, but I was holding out hope. See, my laptop only works if I'm plugged into the wall so without the adaptor I'm fricked. Luckily a local computer shop had a replacement readily available so I'm back in business.

I also have diarrhea so today hasn't been great.

Edit: HAH! THE FUCKING OVEN DOOR JUST FELL APART TOO! You can't make this shit up bro.

My Uncle Dickie died in his sleep last night/this morning. So that's kinda sad. Things have been...prickly around here this weekend too. For the usual reason.

On the bright side, I found me a cat "costume" in Goodwill to wear next weekend for Halloween. I figure I'll be a cat one day and a witch the other. Since Halloween is on a Sunday people'll probably be partying on both days. Should be fun.

Thanks, Fepple. He was a pretty cool dude, yeah. His life wasn't easy, and he was estranged from his ex and children, but he had a good heart. He loved his beer and his weed, and back when he was in his right mind he'd always have on a nice buttoned shirt, aviators, a gold chain and watch, and his gray hair slicked back. I choose to remember him that way.

At least he got out of the squalor he had been living in for years. I'm most thankful for that.

That charging brick I got less than two weeks ago? Yeah, it stopped working already. $25 bucks for it too. Funniest shit I ever seen.

I got another A/C adapter but the lady said the issue could be the laptop itself. Something about the current being being too strong, causing power to feed back into the adapter and burning it up. I don't get it, but I trust her. She said I ought to get a new laptop sooner rather than waiting until Christmas because there's no guarantee this adapter will last either.

I was carving pumpkins today and the inside of the second one was liquified... there was a pool of liquid in it and I could pour all the seeds and innards right out onto the ground. Pretty gross... still carvable, though.

I got a new laptooooooop!! It's a touchscreen Chomebook. The transition was pretty easy; I just need to get used to this wacky keyboard. It's backlit though. That's pretty cool. Not using a mouse either. It'll take time, but I'll get the hang of it!

Have fun to try things out. :)

I actually figured the mouse sensitivity out so I'm using it again!

The only BIG difference is that I can't edit images to upload the way I used to (no Paint). So I'll probably be uploading less here. :/

Other than that everything seems pretty kewl. Chromebooks are pretty user-friendly.

Anybody else see the eclipse last night? It was actually pretty spectacular. Started out with the moon shining abnormally bright and by 4 AM it was actually a dusky dim red with a thin outline of light around it.

I WANTED to see it, but I wasn't gonna stay up that late so I didn't. It was probably pretty cool though. I've always liked lunar eclipses better than solar ones.

Yeah Lunar is much cooler. I'd never seen an eclipse that clearly before so it was definitely a good sign.

I got my hair cut today, and I feel like a bawss. I hadn't had a haircut since 2019 so it feels nice to have it shorter again.

There has been a PROWLER skulking around here at night, so that's something new and exciting to worry about.

I say "around here", but I think he's mostly been on our neighbor's property (which tbf is only like ten feet away from us anyways). She caught him last night, but he ran off before the cops could arrive. They (the cops) said they'd keep an extra eye out but I don't know.
