You can manually type the page number into the URL. But I don't see how that'd make navigation easier. You could use bookmarks too I guess.
If your goal is just to jump to a somewhat random point in the past, then like Em said, just edit the url. If you're on anything other than the first page, you should see the page number in the url. There's also a Random link on the left side of every post if you're just looking for random stuff.
If you want to jump to a specific point in the past, or if you want a search method where any given page number isn't expected to change from day to day, try the "date", "id", or "order" metatags. You can find most of the available search metatags in the "Searching" section of the cheatsheet.
If you want a search method where you can't possibly lose your place even when posts are deleted or replaced, this ancient userscript still works.
If none of those cover what you want, you'll need to make yourself clearer.

Changing the page number in the url works and is what I needed.
It makes it easier because then I can go straight to the page where I stopped looking the night before.
It's not jumping to a random point in the past, but that works also. This came from trying to get to where I have left off in looking at older pages. Do you know how much time it takes to go to page 300, two pages at a time?Zolxys said:

Thank you for the suggestions.
In that case, I'd definitely recommend just using your traditional bookmark.
Please no, anything but my blog. Next you'll tell me my Myspace page is losing followers.
If you respond to bots, your post will look weird when the other is deleted.

about 1 year agosuggestion to help navigate site.
Is there any way possible to add a page jump (not sure what else to call it) where you just type in a page number to go to that page?
For example, if a person comes into the site and wants to see what's on page 4,658, could a place be added so somebody could type in that page number and a button that says go.
or is there something like that already on the site and I am to stupid to fide it.
