Well that scope is no longer sighted in, being carried that way, probably bent beyond use.
who cares?Kiho said:

It's still a great drawing by an excellent anime artist!!!!
Kinta has a very nice yet simple style that looks sooo lovely!! xDD
I don't think weapons or armor can be bent in SAO/ALO/GGO.
Depends on the sight and it's mount. Remember, the sight/mount is designed to withstand the shock of recoil, over and over, and stay sighted in. The average sight has lenses that are incredibly strong due to the material hardness required to produce a perfect optical image. Many setups are very durable if installed properly... The sight/lenses are so strong that you cannot shoot through them, as seen in the movies... In combat, I've actually carried my rife by it's sight at times when in a hurry, and never lost zero...Kiho said:

Supposedly a Marine corp sniper Carlos Norman Hathcock did just that.Animeticklesmytoes said:

Military scopes are undoubtedly more robust than sporting scopes, but I had a very nice 3-9x variable scope destroyed when a rifle which was leaning against a tree was knocked over.
Edit: @Animeticklesmytoes said spent $7K... , you are so far out of my league, I don't own a scope with enough magnification to even see you!
Yeah, I've heard of him, and don't doubt it, but that would be one in a million. Many, many have tried to duplicate it, even under test conditions, and failed. Even Myth Busters tried and failed (http://www.sniperforums.com/forum/optics/9455-mythbusters-sniper-s-scope.html).
The other sniper may have had a weakened scope, and Hathcock would have had to be using steel-core rounds. As for yours' it might have been a Barska, or other low-grade scope. There's a rule to maintaining weaponry that your life depends on, and that's that you spare no expense. I once took out a loan for seven thousand dollars just to buy a Leupold Mark 4 and a Schmidt Bender PMII ... I'm glad I did...
