Nice render, but they didn't use smooth shaders or high enough poly meshes lol.

Edit: Also the chair is missing a leg.

I don't see any flat polygons and it's actually a bit too smooth in places because it's a sculpt made in Zbrush. As a sculpt it also likely has unnecessarily high polycount, I really have no idea what you are talking about. Also the fourth leg is behind the front leg, you can even see it. The chair is likely also mirrored from the middle so it should be identical on both sides in significant details at least.
I didn't see the leg, its a little hidden. But you can see flat faces by the top of the legs and the pillows are not high enough poly as you can see faces were they sculpted the creases from the buttons.

Edit:You can also see flat faces in the gradients on the legs.

It looks like they spent too much time sculpting and not enough time on the render. They really should have used ray tracing to render or some kind of NPR or borderlands style cel shading to flatten the image, if they wanted that kind of look.

I don't know how they "should have" done it, but this is how LESLyzerosix does their art. I think though that sculpting is pretty highpoly by nature, so I doubt that is the issue. There are work in progress screenshots of this particular work somewhere(forgot where) if you want to know a bit more. I think they are supposed to look like figures and probably rendered in Zbrush directly.
