Outside of the center of Moscow or saint petersburg, could be any number of cities in Russia during winter. It looks bleak in the image, but notice how each set of 4 buildings creates a square around an internal courtyard. In summer, there will be a transformation.The main boulevard also has a tree lined area between the traffic lanes.

Yeah I do see that and that really isn't all that different from some neighborhoods in places like Cleveland or Chicago or Minneapolis. Grim and lifeless for some months of the year.

But the real bleakness comes from that added to the idea that there is a reason to take up station on a rooftop with a high-powered rifle.
