Cousin love/fricking is a theme in a lot of anime/manga/games.
Uhm I think it may be a derivate from Japanese "Work all day" culture that leave little to no space for social relations so people may end up to hook up with people they lived with from their childhood (like their relatives) as they're pretty much the only people they had the time to form up any social bonding.
